Inside our deep subconscious,
Where nothing’s as it seems,
We bathe in endless twilight,
Upon the shore of dreams.
We pace amid the shallows,
Leave footprints in the sand,
Hunting for a naked truth,
We’ll never understand.
We watch our daylight waning,
Before a sallow moon,
The sight it makes us shiver,
Dread darkness comes too soon.
But night won’t last forever,
Waves sing in lullaby,
As we watch the starlight trailing,
Bright paths across the sky.
And so in lambent waking,
We cheer the break of day,
But soon we’ll be back dreaming,
In that sweet and sparkling bay.
